Cemeteries have stories to tell about the past. A walk through one can tell
you when an area was settled, the years of hardship, and even give you a hint
at the economic conditionss of the time. The information in the cemetery database
was collected by many different people over the years and some of it is incomplete.
Even so, it is still possible to get a picture of the past by searching this
database.
Please keep in mind the following:
- When you select a cemetery by name, you will not see all of the graves
in that cemetery unless you click on the "view data" dropdown
list.
- Photographs of the cemetery selected will show up on the page if there
are any available.
- A marker that is "uninscribed" is usually a field rock marking
the grave site; it is not a traditional headstone with inscriptions.
