 2012 TogetherGreen Fellows RFP

The National Audubon Society is currently accepting applications for the TogetherGreen Conservation Leadership Fellowship Program – a program that focuses on nurturing environmental leaders across the U.S. The program will offer forty (40) $10,000 fellowships in 2012.

We are looking for leaders who want to learn across disciplines and work with others to achieve results and engage new audiences in conservation. TogetherGreen Fellows should have strong leadership skills, an interest in designing and completing a Conservation Action Project, and a shared passion for learning, achieving results, and empowering others. TogetherGreen Fellows will come from a variety of backgrounds, including the arts, education, communication, policy, science, research, and business. One of the goals of our program is to support projects that engage audiences traditionally underrepresented in the conservation movement.

TogetherGreen Fellows will have a number of opportunities to learn throughout the program. The fellowship begins June 2012 and ends June 2012. Fellows are required to attend the TogetherGreen Conservation Leadership Institute, May 29 – June 3. The Institute will cover topics such as leadership training, conservation planning, evaluation, and strategic communication. The training will also highlight new thinking on how to effectively link conservation science and social strategies to build a stronger conservation constituency and to deliver sustainable conservation results. Fellows will come together at the end of their fellowship for a required follow-up Retreat to share Conservation Action Project results and to receive additional professional development. Fellows will have opportunities to take part in online training workshops throughout the fellowship.
