U.V. effects all animals but the animal that is effected the most seems to be the amphibians. Some of U.V.'s effects on amphibians include deformities such as having an extra limb or not having a leg or an arm. In some cases U.V. kills amphibians.

In 1995 students in Minnesota alerted the world to the problem with frogs having an abnormal amount of deformities. Some of the frogs had up to 5 hind legs, some were missing legs, and some were missing eyes. Over the years the number of deformities in frogs increased and now there are some frogs with more severe problems.

Frogs may act as bio-indicators of the health of our environment so scientists have begun to worry. Global declines of amphibians have suggested reasons for the frogs abnormalities like over exposure to U.V.
