The Electromagnetic Spectrum is a name scientists give to a bunch of radiation when they want to talk about it in a group. Among this radiation there is radio waves, visible light, X-Rays, Infrared, Microwaves, Ultraviolent Radiation, and Gamma Rays.

Some of the Electromagnetic Spectrum have uses like Radio Waves which are used for communication. Other parts of the Electromagnetic Spectrum that have uses are X-Rays which are used for looking at peoples bones to see if they're broken, Microwaves which are used in a Microwave oven, Visible Light which we use to see with, and Infrared which lets you see heat. About the only parts of the Spectrum that aren't used are Ultraviolent Radiation which can have damaging effects on the environment and animals, and Gamma Rays Which also have damaging effects on the environment and animals.
