| Description: Their entire plumage is black, they are larger than an American Crow, at about 19.5 inches long with a 38 inch wingspan. Their bills are large and stout, their tails are wedge-shaped which differs from the crow | Habitat: Ravens are found on rocky cliffs, in mountains, forests, deserts, canyons and open plains. | ||||
| Food: The bird eats basically everything that is dead, but also hunts for mice, lizards, snakes, shellfish, insects, worms. | Enemies: They dont have any enemies, except for people that have poisoned them for the damage they caused to the wild game and to domesticated animals. | ||||
| Range & migration: Ravens breed from Northwest Alaska, the Canadian Arctic and Greenland, south to Maine, northern Georgia, northern Michigan, North Dakota, and through the western United States and Mexico. They winter in most of its breeding range. | Reproduction: The eggs are incubated by the female for only about 18 to 21 days. The young stay in the nest for 38 to 44 days. The young are fed by both the male and female. Ravens mate for life. | ||||
