Salal: the green leaves are shaped in almost a perfect oval, but are lightly toothed; it holds upside down flower near the end of the branch; the flower is white, facing downwards with a reddish pink at top, flowers are sticky and the stem is somewhat fuzzy


Pipsissewa: lightly toothed, long, narrow curvy green leaves going up the stem, tips curled under, facing downwards, red stems and base


Douglas Fir: obvious small tree seedling, pine cones hanging down instead of upward, green needles


Review:

The area is slightly cool with little sunshine. The ground is dry, but soft and covered in sticks and pinecones from many nearby standing trees. It mostly contains shrubs below the knee and various mosses.
