Thank You Ocean Photography Contest

The Thank You Ocean campaign has launched its First Annual California Coast Photography Contest.  The contest is meant to inspire ocean stewardship by featuring images of the iconic California coast and Pacific Ocean.  The contest is open to all levels of photography enthusiasts and can feature scenic images of the California coast, underwater photos, or images of California wildlife.  All images will be posted to the Thank You Ocean Web site where they can be viewed and voted upon by the public until the contest closing date of August 6, 2010.  The winner of the contest will be announced at the California and the World Ocean 2010 conference in San Francisco, September 7-10, 2010.  In addition to receiving complimentary admission to the conference, the winner will have the opportunity to be featured in the campaign's biweekly podcast series, the Thank You Ocean Report.  The winner will also receive a signed print by world-renowned photographer Bob Talbot.

The Thank You Ocean Campaign is a nonprofit partnership supported by the State of California, the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and the Ocean Communicators Alliance. The campaign mission is to raise awareness of the benefits the ocean provides to us and to identify ways each of us can help protect the ocean in our everyday lives.
