"Backpacks "Title Image

here are two main types of backpacks: internal frame and external frame.

Both frame types are designed to place approximately eighty percent of the weight on your hip and twenty percent on your shoulders. In doing this, it allows you to maintain proper posture while hiking.

Internal Frame Pack

Internal Frame:
These packs perform well when heavily loaded. Because they conform to your body as you walk,
they are very comfortable. They also have compression straps on the sides so that you can compress the pack to fit better. Although they are more comfortable, internal framed packs are limited to the size of the bag so that you can not strap many things on the outside. They also tend to carry the weight lower on the back which may cause you to bend over more as you hike.

External Frame:
Packs with external frames are better for strapping on extra gear. for more items on a smaller pack. They also have a space between you and the pack for airflow. However these packs have little flexibility which can make them unstable while walking.
