The Collaborative provides individual school classes and youth with opportunities that expand their outdoor experience on public lands in Northeast California. On-the-ground and hands-on programs are designed to engage youth with projects that support the stewardship of local natural and recreational resources including wildlife and fish habitat, native plants, soil productivity, general ecosystem and watershed services, as well as other recreational resources such as trails. The Upper Colorado River Special Recreaton Management Area supports the environmental stewardship and conservation goals of multiple local area and state educational partners through opportunities to explore public lands in their back yards, to get youth outside and recreate, and to educate the public about natural resource management.
